The Meade ETX-90EC Astro Telescope is an extremely versatile, ultra-high resolution imaging system that, with advanced features similar to larger or more specialized telescopes, can be used by casual observers and serious astronomers alike. With pushbutton controls, precise object tracking of celestial objects, and diffraction-limited imaging, the ETX-90EC may be all the telescope ever required to see birds at 100 yards or stars at 100 light-years.

New Fork Mount with Dual-Axis Drive System. The ETX-90EC includes high torque DC motors on both telescope axes permitting electronic operation from the handheld electronic controller.

• Slow - 8x for image centering at high power.
• Medium - 32x for image centering at lower power, or for pushbutton tracking in altazimuth mode.
• Moderate - 0.75° per second for image centering in the viewfinder, or for terrestrial tracking.
• Fast - 5° per second for fast slewing across the sky.

Cordless Operation. Operate the telescope's dual-axis drive system for more than 40-hours from eight (user-supplied) AA-size batteries; or use the optional #541 AC adapter or #607 DC Power Cord for field applications of the telescope

Observe the continually changing cloud belts on the surface of the planet Jupiter, the magnificent ring system of Saturn; Moon craters by the hundred, plus lunar rilles, mountain ranges, and fault lines, all visible in brilliant, high resolution detail; the variable phases of the planets Mercury and Venus; prominent features on the surface of Mars. In deep-space, the incandescent filamentary structure of the Orion Nebula; the elliptical luminosity of the Andromeda Galaxy with its brilliant nucleus; star clusters, comets and asteroids; thousands of deep-space objects, including all 110 Messier objects are within the view of the ETX-90EC telescope.

Standard Accessories. The ETX-90EC Astro Telescope is supplied as a complete observing instrument. Standard-equipment includes the pushbutton handheld electronic controller, and a premium-grade Meade Series 4000 Super Plössl 26mm eyepiece for 48X. The standard-equipment 8 x 21mm erect-image viewfinder facilitates quick location and field-centering of both land and sky objects. A wide range of optional accessories extends the performance capabilities of the basic instrument.
